Yeah I dunno...but it's purty, so I bought it. I went to an "estate" sale today, too, to look at her agates, she had some 1/2 way decent agates there, nothing shelf specimen quality or anything, but I would have cut them.....yep...they stayed there, she's crazy....80.00 per pound for Lakers, quarter sized agates...so went on to the next sale. so here's what I got for 3 bucks...can ya tell me what it is? Rose quartz? or some pink granite maybe? Would appreciate any input ... Thanks, Marie

At the top of the second and third pics there's a cleavage point that appears to be cubic. I'd say Halite. Don

$80/lb!!! That's nuts! People really seem to over value their Lakers sometimes.

Yeh, after all, they're just Lakers. You'd think they were Fairburns or something. Don

Halite??? The colcoring is actuaally PINK/PEACH...not yellow anywhere on it, so I don't know why it took pics like that

$80 per pound is friggen insane. That's so far out of line... I wonder if somebody involved in the sale has their eye on them if they don't sell.

that appears to be a crystal halite...lots of it comes from the himalayin area...people use it for a variety of things...you ca core out the center of it and make a lamp out of it, the salt ionizes the air around it when heated...

another thing people do w/halite or salt bricks is they warm it in the oven, place it on the table then plate food on it. I've seen it used as an appetizer plate too.
