Howdy folks, Was over the hill at a neighbors home looking at his new workshop when I happened to notice he had used Rio Grande rock as a weed barrier against his house. I also noticed a nice agate sitting right out there in front. So, he invited me to cruise his rocks for a bit and I found a nice half bucket full of nice agate and jasper. Cool beans! Anyway, here are a few pics.....Mel Big honking Rio Grande Moss agate nodules. Much nicer in person and in the sun. This one's less translucent and more of a jasper but very brightly colored This one is very abraded on the exterior but looks to have some plume in it. This may be the nicest from the bunch when cut. A golden moss and a very odd sort of orbicular/brain patterned example. And finally, just a real solid bright colored jasper:

Of all of the pics, the second one looks very interesting to me. Gotta love that urban rockhounding in the neighbors landscape rock. Don

Each one of those would have me itching to get the saw out. I am looking forward to your getting some cooler weather so you can get that saw out. Fran

Looks like Mel might fare well by smoozing the neighbors wife, or daughters with some of this very fine material cabbed, and set as pendants, eh! Woody
