Hard to pic a favorite between the intense reds or the lacy blue? Working hard for them makes you appreciate them more.

Beautiful country, and a great haul you made. Wish I was still young enough for a hike like that. In the 11th pic down, I see a very interesting geode, with what appears to be a soda straw formation in it. It would be a shame to cut that one. It's a great display piece as is. Don

That was truly a wonderful hike. I can't imagine finding rocks like that near home. You are truly blessed. I would think carrying that many stones back was a labor of love. Tanya

Thanks everyone! Man I thought this trip would get the houndin' out of my blood for a while, but I'm sooo ready to go back! Shame I can't for a while Oh well, soon it will cool down enough to hit some of the closer desert spots again. Come on winter!!! ;D

I always get a big kick out of your field trip reports Brian. Beautiful pics of a beautiful wilderness and all the fantastic finds thrown in to boot. Amazing variety you find down along that river and some are almost dead ringers for Texas or California stuff. I especially like that you find so many moss agates that have fine fortifications associated too. That always makes a striking combination......Mel
