If you are not familiar with Labradorite, then I have a whole long-winded rambling discussion of it on my site. However, if you already know this material, or just don't want to read all that, the most important thing to do when cutting Labradorite is that THERE WILL BE WASTE. I have 20 pounds of material that I will be shipping out in a medium flat rate priority mail box with tracking at my cost of $11.40 to anywhere in the United States. This material is on the blacker side of gray and looks pretty plain in the rough. You need to wet it in bright direct sunlight, turn it until you find the blue fire, and then trim/cut/polish to best show the play of color known as "labradorescence." This material looks like it will have a lot of waste and that it will be mostly BLUE fire, rather than the yellow or greeny-yellow you see in some Labradorite. I have a couple of photos but they aren't really great since the uncut rough doesn't look like much.
To make allowance for the waste and the difficulties in orienting the stone, then I am pricing this box $72, which is roughly $3 a pound plus the price of shipping. I accept payments through Paypal, so if you are interested in purchasing, then contact me and I will send you my email address so you can easily pay. Yes, there's a Paypal button on my site but don't send any money until I say OK, in case someone else orders the box in front of you.
If you would prefer to do a swap, then let me know what you have to trade that's in the ballpark of the same value. A finished item would be better for me, because right now we are only set up to slab. We can't sand or polish. So we can't finish items ourselves at the moment.
I put a photo and these are the stones you're getting, but be warned, these stuff doesn't look like much uncut:
A close-up, if you can see that flash of blue fire, that's the color that you will be cutting out and isolating in these stones:
You can see my labradorite page by clicking on the link below, be warned, this is NOT a commercial site, it's a diary, so don't expect a store and do expect "opinions." But if it helps you learn about the stone, you're welcome to it.
