The Painted Desert is awesome! Blue Mesa was my favorite spot and I definitely want to revisit to walk the Blue Mesa Trail. Historic old Route 66 goes through it. There are petroglyphs in a few spots in the park. Am I crazy or does this one look like a spaceship? The Painted Desert Inn is somewhere I'd like to hang out and just stare for a few days... Angie and I wondered how big the paintbrush was that painted this whole place! Here's the vid... enjoy!

Well... the pics should be slowing down now. We're heading east tomorrow to see family. Don't think you all want to see pics of family reunions, LOL. (but, you never know what we'll find along the way... LOL)

Very cool Jo! I don't see many pics of the Painted Desert. Are you guys headed for Texas now? You need to go to Big Bend and if you drift over eastward, give me a shout.

Hey Curt! We should be in Amarillo tonight for one night, and Oklahoma City tomorrow night. Doubt there's a chance we can hook up for some grub, but if it is, let's do it!

Jo, if you get a chance, see the Palo Duro Canyon while in Amarillo.

Jo, those were awesome. I really look forward to you pictures and videos so even while heading back east you can send some pretty sights. Also we would love to meet your family. I'm sure they are as kind as you. If ever in the Ohio area, please let me know.

There's alot of members I missed, so don't feel alone, LOL. Apologies to everyone! We're trying to allot enough time for family for the holidays in the east, so we're breezing through. We do plan to come back and hang after the holidays though.

Thanks, Jo! You've had a wonderful trip and shared with us some awesome photos. The last 2 sets - painted desert and petrified forest - bring me back to a time many years ago when we took a 9-day roundtrip to Vegas and stopped and saw everything there was to see on the way. We had an amazing time, and it seems like every time we stopped, there was some jaw-dropping sight to try to take in. Thanks for taking us with you!
