I polished and wrapped a piece of roofing gravel that I picked up from the tarred roof of a petstore that I was working on today. Yep, got home from work and went straight into the garage! lol (honest!!) Anyhow, I saw it laying on the roof (amongst billions of other tiny stones) and this one had a certain glow with the way that the sun was shining on it. Anyhow, I picked it up and held it to the sky, and told my buddy "this thing looks to be clear inside and fracture-free. He knows the work that I do in my garage so he wasn't surprised that I was looking at a rock. Anyhow, I polished it and as soon as I was finished, I had to wrap it right away!! Check it out ;D ....... Here's some size comparison (sorta)......

It's crystal clear too, you should see it in person! It also flashes like moonstone.

Randy, I have to send my first reaction: "You son-of-a-gun"! I'm too busy learning and practicing a whole lot of stuff in this rock hobby---haven't got to wire wrapping yet, though I'm looking forward to it. My one beef is that many of the wraps are simply too flamboyant and over-wired for my taste. You can hardly see the stone for the cascades of curly wires. [this is just my own preference I'm stating here]. What you've done with this pretty little stone is to enhance its beauty without overwhelming it. The simplicity and restraint of your work is delightful. I hope I'll do nearly as well some day. Thank you for sharing it. Robbiejohn.

Gee, maybe I need to be looking up on roofs instead of down on the ground all the time. Looking good Randy.

I find cool rocks on job sites alot. Mostly quartz and slag glass (left over from the colonial days). Thanks for the comments y'all!! EDIT: almost forgot, I call this one a "roof diamond" ;D
