It's been a rough week and a half. My Grandfather passed. I had to go to Maryland on a rather stressful business trip. Got back Friday afternoon to find some one had stolen my bank card #s and went on a spree. Spent a lot of time on the phone and a trip to the bank to get things fixed. Saturday we drove up north for Grandpa's service. I was feeling very drained.
Sunday morning Christa and I got up way early and headed for Lake Alamo to fish, rock hound and unwind. We hit the lake just as the sun was rising and it was picture perfect
We caught ourselves some fish, and Christa had the catch of the day with this 5 1/2 pound large mouth bass!
It's the biggest she's ever landed and I'm very proud of her ;D
We had a shore side lunch and then headed for the hills near the lake. Spent some time hounding and found some nice rocks there. On the way out we spotted a red tailed hawk perched on a Joshua tree, but by the time I got the camera out he took off. Captured his escape at least
The rest of the afternoon we spent exploring remote back roads out in the area, eventually finding an alternative way in to Anderson. Did a little collecting there, just a few rocks close to where we parked, and left as the sun began to set. Such a beautiful area
Captured a nice desert sunset on our way out
Got home kinda late, a little sore and burnt out but it was a wonderful day with much needed unwind time.
Here's the rock we collected
Anderson stuff
Stuff from near the lake
Thanks for coming along with us
