I like #'s 9 - 19 & 20 the best. The red moss against the blue agate in #20 will make some killer cabs.

Boy, when you go collecting you really get the best load. Those are wonderful. Can't wait to see them cut.

Man Carlos, your posts always give me the itch to go collect. That ranch you hunt really has an excellent selection of agate and jasper. Cool that you get so many fortification and tube pieces in addition to the moss. The rock piles composed of Eagle pass material I hunt seem to have the moss but very seldom do I find the other types. Plus, each time I go I seem to be finding less agate so they must be getting into the deeper strata in the pit which contains less good stuff. Matt Dillon told me the best stuff is actually nearer the surface of the gravel deposits. If I had to pick a favorite from all the great stuff you picked up it would be #4 in the meat and potatoes section. That is a wild looking agate!.....Mel

Makes me wanna move to Texas too! What a delicious haul. Mel mentioned a ranch...is it private land you hunt on??? or is it a pay site like Woodward Ranch?? I'll be working in El Paso come next spring...how close is that to the Falcon Lake area?? Steve

The ranch is private and with numerous gas wells, livestock and mining operations the owner has concerns about liabilities.

*L* Those are a couple of the drawbacks about Texas rockhounding. Almost entirely private property, Texas law requires written permission to trespass, and Texans are very protective of their privacy ( shotguns!). And, Texas is huge. Almost everywhere is 6 hours or more away *L*. Good roads and nice scenery but a long time behind the wheel.....Mel
