It's a really nice one with dual (top and bottom) lighting and up to 1024 magnification. Got to playing with it today to see how well it works. Really is cool. Has a webcam that plugs into where the eyepiece goes and you can record direct from the microscope, snapshots or video. Really fun to play with. Here's a series on a fossil I have.... Pretty cool. I can see right into fissures on the stones I have, makes looking inside my geodes really spectacular!

That would be awesome in a Geode. It's spectacular on the fish. Have fun!

Found out if I increase the length of the viewfinder tube I can increase the magnification even further. Going to take some measurements and see what I can do.... fun to mess around with for now.

I've been wanting one for a while. It sure brings a whole new world to rocks doesn't it. I would love to check out the bandings in Agates...What type and cost if you don't mind...or just a PM would do. Steve

Steve they had this on kids.Woot.com the other day. I saw it and went out to research it and found that the price was almost a gimme!! Bresser Junior 40x-1024x PC Microscope Set * Bresser 88-55000 Micro Set Junior Microscope * (2) Wide-Angle Lenses WF16x , WF10x * Barlow Lens * Illumination Filter Card * MicrOcular Lens with USB Cable * MicrOcular VGA Software CD-ROM necessary to link the camera to you PC * Dissecting instruments – Tweezers, Eyedropper, Specimen Slicer * (5) Prepared Slides and (5) Plain Slides with Cover Slips in Storage Container * Shrimp Hatchery * (4) Small Plastic Vials containing – Sea Salt, Shrimp Eggs, Yeast, Gum Media * Power Supply with US adapter * Plastic Dust Cover * Instruction Manual * Convenient Storage / Carry Case for easy portability kids.woot.com/Blog/ViewEntry.aspx?Id=14621Was $59.99 + $5 shipping. Ordered on the 19th, got it on the 23rd, not bad. Having a fun time with it with my 13 year old daughter. We've already looked at some amazing stuff. Found that the USB camera can be used on a side mount so I can look at tons of other objects. Going to figure out how to make a quick-connect for the slide tray so I can take it off and view larger stones. You can only fit thin slabs on it as it is, but they look amazing, especially the gemmy stuff. Now I'm thinking about getting a nice borescope that I can take in the field with me when rockhounding to look into cracks and crevices, help me find more stuff....

Try it on pet wood. You'll be amazed how many cell structure details you'll see.

It's great but for one thing, to fit any size stone bigger than just a slab is almost impossible. So I've removed the slide deck and am experimenting with replacing the factory deck with a hardened aluminum piece that I'm making myself. Will post when done with it. Oh, here's a fly's leg, yes, I was sort of grossed out but I'm looking at everything on it...lol... next, my dog's hair... If I'd not had this displayed on my PC, I would think I was lying and took this off the web somewhere. I can't believe how cool this new toy is...lmao... So easy, load the software on the computer. Plug in the scope into power, plug in the camera into your USB port, take the veiwfinder off the scope and insert the camera, and voila...
