I picked this up from one of clubs older members, and since I am a wee bit older than dirt...........Anyhow he thought it came from the Oregon Nevada border. It is much more purple than the photograph. It was late in the day, and raining when I shot it. I would of course like to know where it came from. Woody

Nice agate! I am going to take a stab at this. All agates I have found were in one or two places flat rate box or the ground I am going to go with ground on this one just a guess though. Hope that helps lol. George

It's posing in distiguished company. Based on my experiances I would guess gravel pit or railroad track.

Wow! That's a tough one. I'd peg it as Jellybean ( Haystack Butte) Jasper because somewhere I have a slab that shows that same purple and sort of dendritic pattern. That being said though, northern Nevada around the Quinn River area where the Ammy sage comes from, also has some forms very much like your example as does the Snake River area of Idaho.....Mel
