i am going to post alot of stuff on here regularly, so stay tuned!
first off, sorry about the low quality pictures, i only seem to have time to do this sort of thing in the middle of the night and dont have access to a spare sun for good lighting..
anyway...
some sort of pink lace agate. i try looking it up but all i can find is dyed material. this is definetly not died. i only cut off the corner because i didnt want to waste it. you cant see in the picture but the pink stuff is real sparkly
this stuff was already cut and labeled but im trying to narrow it down further. in the pictures it looks like it might be dyed with something, or wax or something. i didnt notice this in person untill i looked at the picture. weird. what does it say bleach for? and specifically how do i do that? just soak it in regular bleach for a week or what?
should i attempt to cab this or just polish it and leave it like it is?
this stuff is weird. looks like rotting wood on the outside. 2 different types of materials intertwined. i cut a slab of it but lost it so no pic.. the amber colored stuff is transluscent, the white stuff has sparkles in it..
texas agate, which exactly?
i broke this quartz open along a dark vein to see what was in it and here it is.. is this just a fungus or something growing in the crack? is it just on the surface or if i cut/polish it will it stay in the rock? it wont scrape off. im trying to figure out if i can cab/polish this or if i should just leave it alone...
this next stuff is real hard to get a decent picture of.
on the outside it looked like some sort of agate. on the inside it looks like agatized coral or wood or something. it looks lumpy/crumbly in the pictures but it is totaly smooth/hard/ and stable.. i pretty much hate this stuff, i think its boring and disappointing but i wont throw anything away and in order to get rid of it i need to figure out what it is..
