Hello, I was these days in a job trip. The road lead me in a mountain region with beautiful landscapes, and the good weather helped me to catch those landscapes in some pictures which I'd like to share here. Notice the hay-stacks here, they are pretty much used here in the country side: But it's the first time when I see wood stacked like this: Then I went to visit a museum in a city close to this place. The museum was closed, but still I could visit the yard with a big collection of sandy concretions. The most impressive one is that tall one, standing, looking like a human silhouette. You can see it better here, one could swear it's man made: Thank you for looking, Adrian

Okay Adrian, I'll accept that the concretion in the last pic wasn't man made... but... how do you know it wasn't an ancient man that was magically turned to stone long ago, huh?
LOL, I agree, that fourth picture made me look hard to see that it wasn't a painting. Beautiful! Jo

Adrian, these are great pictures with amazing views! What is it that is sticking out of the hay stacks and how does that wood stay stacked so high, especially if you take some of it to use? I keep looking and looking and I just can't figure it out. Fran

Thank you everyone. That fourth pic, I kept walking from one spot to another, trying to frame a picture without ellectric lines, wind turbines, cell phone towers and I almost did, LOL! Glad you enjoyed it.
Fran, all the hay-stacks here have a stick like that emerging from the top center. It's stuck in the terrain and it probably helps in guiding the even built of the stack, maybe it also helps to its stability against wind.
The wood stacked like that - have no idea, it's the firtst time i see it like that and I also asked myself about how do they take wood from there. I cannot figure out, unless they start taking from top which would be very unpractical.
