Had the chance to spend some time with a couple great AZ RTH'rs this past few days. Thursday Ed (deeptime) and I met for lunch, his treat even! Exchanged some rocks, stories and laughs. He gave me one of his killer Rock 'n Hearts made in part with a moss slab I gave him the first time we met, check it out! Awesome work and many thanks bud! ;D Yesterday Rodney (lonetreestudios) and I hit part 2 of an estate sale we had met at a couple weeks ago. They had a genie he was hoping to pick up, but we found they had sold it during the week. Bummer for sure. Last time we we there they had this incredible monster stump of pet palm I'm kicking myself for not getting at the time, as it was gone as well. Oh well, we still picked up a few cool things. Actually Rodney made out like a bandit with lotsa great rough for a good price! We headed off to Burro creek from there for a fun day of hounding. It was Rodney's first rock hounding trip in Arizona and we found lotsa great rocks out there. Here's a promising 30lb nodule I dug up I should have snapped some pics out there, but sometimes you just forget to pick up the camera when you're having too much fun Anyways it was great to spend some time with you guys!! One last pic, we got one final surprise bud on our Stapelia a few weeks ago and this morning it opened up Thanks for looking everyone, and have a great day!!

Great thing that you two live so close and could meet each other. As for the heart bonus, what can I say? Your generosity was rewarded in a very pleasant way. This is the sort of happenings that make me enjoy this place. I hope the duck-tail of your truck is well after holding that huge nodule Adrian Adrian

Brian, that 30 lb beauty from Burro Creek looks suspiciously like the one I couldn't get dug out last year...hmmmm I was going to go back with some dynamite but guess you beat me to that one.

Have to say thanks again to Brian for hauling a newbie around! Talk about a perfect day...gorgeous weather, travel to a new place, hanging out with a great fellow rock nut, and some pretty nice finds as well.... What Brian FAILED to mention was how long he worked on that nodule, and how BIG the boulder was that he was digging under to get it! Also, the nodule looks better in person I think, keeping my fingers crossed for some wondeful purples in there... Rodney

Sounds like great fun for sure! Nice find on that hunk-o-yum burro creek beauty there too! Although with Brian's rock vision, nothing's safe! LOL!
Nate
P.S. Ed, your hearts are amazing too!

I may have been tempting fate a bit undermining that monster boulder. As Gump would say, I might not be a smart man.. but I know what agate is Thanks all!
