I hope you like these, I about burned my office down with this...hahaha.. just have to thank Amber (bejewelme) for the idea, I think she's the one that posted a nice thread on PMC and got me started. So I guess when I burn down my house I can blame her (yeah, right). Anyway, I had fun making this one, the previous one was a PITA, but this set was fun. Please let me know what you think of it!

It's an enamel paint almost like finger nail polish, you paint it on and bake it in the oven. Stinks to high heaven, not sure I want to do that in my kitchen again! lol

Amebas
Don't worry about the smell, the next pot roast will absorb it all.
Think toaster oven in the garage.

I'm thinking about trying that PMC stuff too. If only I had a nice warm shop to work in. I have a brand new RV type stove and oven that could be built right into the shop. Just put an exhaust hood over it to suck the fumes outside.
We need someone experienced in PMC to do a tutorial on here for us learners.

Amber?? We like anything she posts so maybe she can give us the tut. As to the PMC, I started the cheap and easy method, with the fire pot. Looking at ovens now. I got a catalog that just blew my mind, logged into Delphi's site and requested a catalog, well, there goes all my money! hahaha. Go to www.delphiglass.com and check it out. I'm not sure but I thought their prices were pretty good, but then I didn't really shop around a lot. Nice learner kits for PMC though.

Oh, just checked, here's the kit I bought but now on sale: www.delphiglass.com/sale-specials/beginner-kits-sale/pmc3-deluxe-jewelry-clay-kitAfter I used it up the first time, I shopped ebay for more PMC3, then a local shop for fuel, and I can keep going without the big over. Can't make anything large with this kit, but I don't need anything large. Going forward I'm hoping to try to bond these as backers for some small cabs that I'd like to make into pendants and earrings.

Hey Robin, did you sign up for Delphi's email specials. They run specials all the time, and sometimes have great prices.

That looks great Robin! I think Amber has been really busy so she hasn't seen this thread yet. She has become very experienced and I bet can give us all some good training if she ever has the time. Fran

Sorry guys I have been MIA with work and the move in then the show, etc, my rocks have been sitting for too long and my clay is probably shriveled. Robin- your work is lovely I saw the set you made your wife, WOW! I use the speed fire cone and attach it to the propane burner outside, it has to be fired at 1290-1400 degrees for 20 minutes or you can fire with a hand torch, but the longer it goes the more durable it is, the enamaling I am familiar with for PMC3 is a lengthy process, mixing colors and then refiring several times, I am not familiar with the stuff you are using, do you have a link to that? I am curious how that works baking in the oven, I worry that it might peel going forward but honestly do not know enough about the product you are applying.
I really want a kiln too but too expensive for now the speed fire cone works great I got it off Rock man Ken on here bought a $20 attachment for a propane tank, I want to kiln to do copper and bronze clay that is a bit cheaper.
Just remember the fine silver is frsgile so getting the longest firing at the lowest set firing temperature is best. This is how I do leaves, and sticks, and the organic matter burns off.
Send me the link and I will be glad to answer any questions I can, are you rolling out the clay and using a syringe to make the little wells to hold the color?
Amber
