Hi all, I have been wanting one of these for sooooo long! This is my Christmas present from Dennis (wolfden). Using scrap wood that he had in his shop, he made me a portable jewelry lap desk. I usually work on jewelry on the wide arm of our couch....but I always end up with a headache and a sore neck from looking sideways. With this lap desk, I can comfortably sit on the couch and work on jewelry in a more ergonomic manner. Its heavy duty so it sits well on my lap without wobbling...and is sturdy enough for me to hammer metals on it with my mini anvil and hammer. Heavy tooling leather turned suede side up so that my jewelry and supplies do not slide around while working. Drilled holes to hold all of my supplies so they are out of the way. Room inside to store everything in case I want to take it with me. The box full of small round containers is for jump rings for my chain mail. And he also made me a wood draw plate for my woven wire projects that I have just started doing. And a handle for easy carrying. Thank you so much honey, I love you bunches! And thanks for lookin everyone. Shan

It's a very useful and neat looking portable desk. It says it all about what Dennis feels for you! BTW, I can see some scrap wood, but even more love used for building that desk Adrian

Todd......he started it some time ago and just happened to finish it now. I got it early so that I could finish up Christmas gifts for family using the table instead of on the arm of the couch. Now he's moved on to another project. He's built a cat condo/tree for our two kitties to play on, complete with two shelves, two houses, ramps, sisal covered pole etc. Amazing what you can do with scrap wood, a roll of rope and some discounted upholstery fabric that cost almost nothing from Wal Mart LOL. Maybe it will keep the cats from jumping into the tub, knocking over all the bottles and emptying the garbage can all over the room. Pfft! Who am I kidding. Shan
