Could this be silver Ore?? My sister found it with a bunch of rocks and slabs someone dumped on the ground in a park. when I first saw it I thought it was hematite or lead (it was black and heavy) after I cleaned the black off and put a knife blade to it Im not sure what it is. the silver part is to hard to be lead. After making the cab; it has some small clear a white agate in it. Im lost, I want to say it is silver ore but have never seen anything like it. Any one have a idea?? Thanks Mike

very cool . If it is silver, it is a high grade ore $$$, with that much silver in it . What is the matrix stone?

Can't help with stone id, but the mounts are called Flexi Mounts. they can be slightly bent to fit a stone which isn't a perfect standard cab size. Eloxite has them in plated metal, and have something similar in sterling.

Actually, silver is black in the matrix. At least in sowbelly agate from the Crede silver mine it is the black spots. Hematite is also black and polishes black. It could be iron pyrite. It polishes up silver. See if it is magnetic. Ken

Mike, bring it to Cloud's. If Larry makes it there this year he specializes in a silver ore from Canada. Some has white calcite or quartz running through it. Most of the silver has flowery swirls and shapes. He is two spaces down from me usually.

I'll introduce you to Larry if he makes it. He and his wife both had health problems and his truck broke down in Las Vegas (NM) on the way there last year. He used to leave in time for the Pow Wow in Quartzite but caught some kind of Valley Fever there the year before and almost died. Must be awful getting old.

Love the pendant mount you have there, where did you get that? I've been searching for 20mm round and 20x30mm oval but can't find them anywhere...
