This is my daughter-in-law, Michelle with my oldest son, Chris. She just officially became that last spring, although she and my son have been together for about 8 years. They met in Rome, Italy when they were both doing a semester abroad. She was being bothered by some young Italian boys and my son pretended to be her boyfriend so they would leave her alone. Guess it kind of stuck. She is a teacher in the KIPP Program, a very worthwhile program and Michelle works hard and gives tremendously of herself to deserving young scholars. Anyway, we are going to see them at Michelle's father's home in Washington, DC for Christmas. We'll be with her family and my two other sons, who are driving down from PA to join us. Anyway, all the men are getting beautiful knives with custom scales from Rockmanken. I made this Labradorite and Sterling Silver pendant for Michelle. The stone came from Peachfront (Mary), with whom I did a trade earlier in the year. And I made her a set of matching Sterling haspback earrings with Niobium coils. I got the idea from Sheri (Rockhobbit) who gave me a set of earrings (which I love) when I met her a few months ago. Sheri, I hope you don't mind my copycatting, but it is an awesome design! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my awesome friends! Jo

Jo, How your son and daughter-in-law met is so neat. Your pendant and earring set is just beautiful. Love how the colored coils on the earrings match the colors that are in Labradorite. Your sense of style is wonderful.

Thanks everyone!
I just realized that the earring on the right is flipped over the top connecting ring and is backwards, it is a mirror of the other, but, oh well, LOL. The picture doesn't show the gold in the cab, but it's there.
Lori, watching your work as I learned to wirewrap encouraged me to go that little extra mile to connect jewelry pieces with people, which you do so well, so thank you... I learned it from you Dear.
I sent Ken a couple of family heirloom knives and he did a superb job on them, and he was incredibly generous too. Ken, you are gonna make this Christmas even more special!

Jo, that is a wonderful story and some beautiful creations! Enjoy DC! I heard they will open up a few more streets so it will be easier to get around there. Have fun! Fran
