Before using Ceramic pellets I read that "it never wears out". I've used it quite a number of times now and after a couple times in rough vibrating the cylinders get square. I'm not sure that they can roll around the right way like that or not. I actually threw one batch of them away after they became square. = Also, are you suppose to use the ceramic pellets in the polish cycle? Thanks!

The pointed ends wear out first for me. They are filler and shape really doesn't matter. In a vibe tumbler you need them all the way through. They help a lot in rotary tumblers also.

Following up on John's comments, they will eventually wear down to nothing. I don't own a vibe, and if the rock I am tumbling is brittle or the load is not mixed in size, I use them throughout--up to 50% including the polish stage.

I rotary tumble most of the time & about a year ago I started using them beginning with the 120/220 stage all they way through polish & I'm getting the best shine I ever have gotten. I think a lot of the credit goes to the cermics. I use the small cylindars...Rich
