Here is a Stefoinite cab I wrapped today. I am not real happy with how this turned out but I couldn't bring myself to scrap the silver either so here it is I just think too much of the stone is hidden and I struggled with the criss-cross on top...too many tool marks and squiggly wires.

I like the crisscross, don't care for the beads.

I like the weave design. It is cool looking. My own taste though would be to use it for another cab. I was thinking that if you don't like it, maybe you can gently pry the back wires a little and slip the stone out and use a different cab. I have done that a few times with my own wraps.
You once id'd one of my cabs as Stephoinite (thank you) and afterwards, I researched some more. Your cab is beautiful.

I think that is what I might do, is to try and switch cabs. A solid colored cab. Someone else mentioned that a solid color would be better in this type of wrap, so you don't cover up any interesting patterns. I think that would be better than to cover up this cool Sefoinite

Chris......Herringbone Style wraps are one of the harder ones to do.........stone orientation along with wire placement is key...I agree you hid alot of the stone....oh well it happens.....next time you do that type of wrap (Herringbone), tighten it up on the top portion of the stone............Heres a pic of a Herringbone wrap illustrating...you should of seen the wife cussin makin this one....LOl....they aint easy

I like the wrap, and agree a solid color cab would be better. The cab is gorgeous on it's own, so I think a simple wrap would be best.

Excellent technique though, I like it. Yea, a solid would look better in this case. Good job either way, on both the stone and the wrap.

That is a great weave on top but it really does cover that beautiful cab too much. I agree that a plain stone would benefit from that wrap. Good luck with what ever you decide to do! Fran

That is a gorgeous stone. I think the beads go good with the stone but not the weave. I don't see any tool marks though. Good job, just wrong stone.

I love the cab, and the wire is done nicely but like you already stated, it covers too much of the stone. I actually like the beads too.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Elegantcabs, I see what you are talking about. If I had put my bindings up higher or even put a second set of binding higher and started the herringbone further up I think this would have turned out better. Thank you for the advice. I actually think that the picture you have posted here is the same photo I saw some time ago that inspired me to try and do this type of wrap. I have done 4 or 5 of this type but it still hasn't got any easier....but I like the look when it turns out well.
