Hi Guys, Bill, Angie and I are heading west toward Quartzsite and got the chance to go see the Underworld. If you haven't been to Carlsbad Caverns, do it... if you don't think you want to, rethink it. Such an incredible experience and the walk through the Big Room isn't too bad. The trail is paved and there are handrails the whole way. Well, for those who say they've got no chance gettin' there, but wish they could, here's the vid. Nuttin' near professional, but hope you enjoy. Jo

Jo, If you're heading back Texas way, the Caverns of the Sonora are pretty nice too. I visited them several years ago after I toured Carlsbad. Pretty nice tour and the Sonora Cave is a live cave you enter through valves to hold the moisture in. Right off Hwy 10 too....Mel
PS: If you're ever over here in the spring through early fall and love bats like I do, the Old Tunnel Bat observation area over near Fredericksburg is a must. So many bats flying out of there it sounds like a stream flowing and you get to see them up close and personal.

That cave looks monumental! And those slender stalactites are incredible! Good thing they controlled the access before being vandalised.

Hey Mel, that sounds awesome, it will be on our list to do for sure. Adrian, you are so right! This one is the most commercialized, but there are other caves there that only have limited access. There are also private tours of other parts of the cave. Jo

That was awesome. Jo, along with the subtitles being jam packed with cool info, they were so appreciated when my speakers weren't working.
The Polar Caves in NH are the only caves I've visited. No where near as big or beautiful but they do offer two paths: The Orange Peel or the Lemon Squeeze. Honest! lol
