I'm new to wrapping have looked at several tutorials and many many beautiful wrapping pieces done by many of you. Most pieces only show the front. I was wondering if you were adding more wire once you get to the curls at the top? Most times I only see 2 strands of wire on the front of the cabochon so I'm guess it has at least 2 on the back. But usually at the top there are at least 2 used for the bail and some have 4 in curls. Are the bail wires not cut and used in the curls instead? Thanks for your secrets. I would love to see your backsides. Your cabochon backside that is. ;D

Sometimes I use all the bail wires for the swirlies, sometimes I use some of them for the front swirlies and some I leave in the back. I just cure them up in the back flat to the stone so they won't catch on something. Here I will send you photos.

here you go the back the front the front of a more complicated piece with all wires brought to the front Sometimes the backs get very complicated. some more backs I do most of my backs like this and the front I hope these help. Basically, you can do whatever you want in the back. Just try not to make it too bulky or leave any sharp edges or anything that will catch on clothing etc. Amy

Tweetiepie use to ask for back pics and it got so that some of the wrappers would include back pics just for her but she hasn't posted in a while. Went on and on about wire but Amy's pics say it best.

Timely topic... I think it depends on how many wires you are wrapping with. I typically wrap with 5 wires, and so end up with 10 ends! All these end pieces drive me crazy, and so have been experimenting with different ways of finishing them. This is one I finished just recently; Front View Brazilian Pink Lace by Mystic Koi, on Flickr Back View Pink Lace (back) by Mystic Koi, on Flickr I tried making the wrap pieces on the wires, but struggled with getting the wire pulled through. I previously made one this way by pulling the wires away from the back of the stone, but then couldn't get the wires back to lay flat against the stone. So on this one, I made the wrap wire on some scrap pieces, which I did not "set". I then slide this over the ends and then set it. It worked out well, but I need to get my ends more even. I'm interested in other methods people may share, but hope this sparks some ideas. Kind Regards, Bill
