I find wire wrapping tedious and time consuming so I sent a batch of cabs to Vance so he could do the tedious and time consuming part. ;D Here's a few of my favorites. They look much better in person. Thanks Vance! Curt

Curt,
Nice Work, i prefer Electro-plating, Good way to do Fire Agates
Number three reminds me of Mt. Saint Helen. could hear the blast across the valley, in Salem.
Auto glass shops were tying to polish the silica grit scratches out of wind shields.

Curt, Do you use a carbon rod to form the hole in the gold.

Very nice! I especially like the last one, awesome scenery! Yes, Vance did some for me, as well & I am please with them. He has some more to finish for me as soon as I have the money for it.

Curt, Do you use a carbon rod to form the hole in the gold. Jack You'll have to ask free4rms here on the board. He's the one that did the electroforming. Curt

Those are beautiful Curt! I especially like the last two! Beautiful depth in the cabs and the electroplating adds instead of detracts from the scenes. Fran

Jack, The "hole in the gold" is actually a metal bail or ring that is electroformed onto the stone along with the gold. I simply glue the bail onto the stone, and when the metal forms on the stone, it also forms onto and over the bail. The piece is suspended in a liquid plating solution on a piece of wire, and the wire keeps the hole open during the electroforming process. By the way, as Curt mentioned, the pendants always look better in person than in the photos. As you can see in the highlighted areas of the gold, the finish is more like highly polished metal.
