I noticed with this rainbow that it had a tendancy to splinter. I am still learning how to slab this material so the colors show when it is on someones neck. Easy to work with as far as cutting goes. I try and make sure to have my saftey glasses on when I work with obsidian. If I forget my eyes will be all gritty.

I actually lucked out with this piece because when I slabbed it I thought I was slabbing black obsidian. I was surprised after the first slab to see that it was a colored sheen obsidian.

One of them involves paint and is a great idea. Do a search or maybe someone will post one for ya
