Hey peeps, How is everyone tonight? Well, here's a couple more experements with coils. This first one is really kind of ugly in my opinion. Now don't get me wrong, I really like the bail and how the bottom came out. But all in all I'm not thrilled with the wrap. The coil I made for the bail was too short ( Dang that takes alot of wire!!! ) so I just ended up with copper and silver alternating.... well any ways... Here you go...Picture jasper Here's the bottom detail.... and the back.... Where'd all the wires go?!?! I really like how this second one came out .... I really want your input on this one.... another picasso jasper in copper with just a little sterling silver accent. Here's a side view... The coils hide all my sloppy wire work on the back... LOL, I was in a hurry, and I knew it would be hidden.... .. and the back.... Well, that is it for now.... Chris

As far as the first one....I don't like it overall either. The wire and the pattern of the bail do fit th stone. I love the basket weave at the bottom.
The second one.....I think it is top heavy. too much wire on the top for the size of the stone. Otherwise, WOW!!!! How do you do that? Awesome design.

I definitely like the 2nd one. I have much admiration for folks who work with coiled wire.

Looks like your wraps are evolving, I like the bail and basket weave in the first one too.

wow I think they are both amazing ... I do agree with you on the first one about the alternating part but I think it would look friggin great if you just cut that piece off ... Awesome as usual though ...

Thank you all once again. The second one.....I think it is top heavy. too much wire on the top for the size of the stone. Otherwise, WOW!!!! How do you do that? Awesome design. Hey Amy. Yeah, the first one is a little top heavy... This is the first wrap I have done like this. I drew a sketch of the bail and then went through my stones to see which one would look good under it. I guess that instead of showing off the stone with wire... I used the stone to show off what I can do with the wire ( if that makes any sense...).... but I still can't weave .... lol I definitely like the 2nd one. I have much admiration for folks who work with coiled wire. Really, I am suprised how easy the coiling stuff is... and still amazed at how much wire it uses up .... I admire people who work with woven wire... wow I think they are both amazing ... I do agree with you on the first one about the alternating part but I think it would look friggin great if you just cut that piece off ... Awesome as usual though ... Oh, I've been so tempted to cut it off.... But alot of people seem to like it as it is, and I'm sure not going to wear it ... so who really cares about my opinion, right?

The coils are beautiful but I think they kind of fight with the stone for your attention with these two. I almost think a solid color stone or an agate, maybe with angles to it would be complimented by the coils because it would add interest. I am thinking a black jade with that copper coil wrap would really look striking! Just a thought though because coil or weave, that is way beyond my abilities! Fran
