I made a ring with charoite for myself, I know that it is very large but I love this stone and did not want to loose any of the pattern. It has good chatoyance and you don't have to squint to see it. top view; ; side view; ; back view; ; on my crooked fingers; ; Thanks for looking

thats a great size and beautiful stone in your silver work. I love the fact that you set it plain and simple so the stone can take center stage

What a gorgeous stone! You were right to leave it big as it is. The ring is beautiful.

Beautiful ring. Nice clean work. How did you make the shank?

The shank is wide low dome sterling from Rio, I decided how wide I wanted it at the bottom, subtracted from total width, and divided by 2 and filed it down until I was almost there and then made sure to slope it and round over the edges. Then the same for the other side. I used my calipers so I was able to get within .005 before starting to slope it. It doesn't take long just a lot of check and recheck. and be sure to brush all the filings into the scrap pile. I want the stone to be the main focus. Some day I will be good enough soldering to go wild and make something fancy, for right now I like strong and simple.

That ring is awesome and it's not too big. It looks like it belongs on your hand. You have a beautiful piece of art, great job. Tanya

Fantastic!! the more I see the stuff, the more I like it. You were right about leaving the stone a bigger size to show its beauty. Excellant ;D
