I have a Thumler's Tumbler T100 and I had problems with it before, but now it doesn't run anymore. It still makes some noise but no spinning. I wonder if anyone has ever opened the motor for this kind of tumbler.
Thank you!

i have had this problem once. i just oiled were the roller rods join the frame. i even oiled the rear rod at the center so the oil would find its way underneath the rubber rollers. if they are to dirty and stuck from gunk from rubber wear, then disassemble and clean with WD40. then oil. sometimes your tumbler will need a little help to get going or in my case...always need help to get going. it just needs a little tlc.

If that is the newer version of the classic Model T- then yes I did. PM me if you need details.

I just inherited an old 9lb thumler, and the motor didn't work at first. I oiled all of the moving parts and cleaned it up, and it started running with a little "help" to get it going. The first day it stopped a few times, and I oiled it again and helped it get started again, but now has been running nonstop for a while. I'm still going to keep an eye out for a replacement motor, because this unit is very old...

I may have spoke too soon... I think I need a replacement motor... Mine appears to be on its death bed.

It has been several years since I was a Thumler's dealer but the old Model T had a "skeleton frame" motor similar to the smaller Lortones. You should be able to remove belt and check the motor. If shaft moves up/down the bearings are bad. If shaft moves in/out excessively motor may get stuck trying to start. If motor starts with belt off you need to clean the shaft bearings and oil. You can order the replacement motor directly from True Square Metal Products. They were about $20 back when I was a dealer. Any repairs to these motors in the way of cleaning/oiling is only temporary.

thank you guys. I sent an email to Tru Square but I'm starting t think that I'll never hear back from them... anyways, over the weekend I'll have some free time and I plan to open it up.
I probably should start planning for a new acquisition. Any recommendations? I'm thinking to get the AR2, the one with the two barrels. What do you think? Is it reliable or I'm going to have the same problems I do now?

The AR2 has a much larger motor and should serve you well. Two drums are always better than one.

You'll get a better response calling True Square. Ask for Al.
