These are some wraps I have done lately. Hope you like em. ;D This is the first pyrite cab I have made. OMG!!! what a mess it makes. The water on my wheels looked like black ink. I found some stones with a lot of pyrite chunks in them in a slag pile from an old mine. This is not a very good cab as it has a lot of pits in it. I just made it as an experiment. The preform stage made such a mess, I almost quit. but I continued and then the shine that the polishing wheels put on it is incredible. A mirror finish. I can't get a good picture as it literally reflects everything like a mirror. You can see me in the reflection and the reddish purple of my house. I will make more of these and set up a light box to get better photos. I wrapped this one in gold colored copperwire. a laker which Diane gave me when she came to visit. Thank you Diane. I decided that I really like Lakers. If anyone has some to sell, or trade, let me know. I wrapped this one in Silver plated wire. It has crack in it but I like it anyway. I am wearing it now. I make so many wraps, that now I save the gold and real silver wire for only the perfect cabs. This is my very first goldstone cab. I bought a chunk of this at the recent rock show. I also bought some purple goldstone but have not cabbed it yet. I wrapped this one in gold filled. This is a black and white lace agate. It is groove wrapped and woven with argentium silver. This was a very small slab I bought at the same rock show. Only big enough for one cab. but it called to me. It is wrapped in argentium silver. Thanks for lookin. Amy

Hey Amy,
These are great. I especially love the first one with the pyrite and swirls. I'm working on my swirls. I'm trying to make them look fluid like yours. Keep up the great work.

Beautiful pieces Amy. I think the pyrite was well worth the time and mess. It's outstanding!

Those are gorgeous Amy. You're welcome I'm glad you could do that stone justice. That pyrite is beautiful, well worth the mess as far as I'm concerned. I'm not as fond of groove wraps but the woven wire on the black and white one makes it stand out.

WOW! The second one is clearly my favorite, even if the Laker is slightly cracked.

Sweeet, I like the 1st best...I only wrap my best stones so don't have to worry about cheaper wire. I was wondering though how argentium works compared to sterling? I just bought 200 feet of 20ga square but haven't tried it yet.

Argentium is very easy to work with. I get dead soft and it seems to be a tiny bit softer than sterling dead soft. I only buy argentium now. I like it better. Plus it is tarnish resistant, so less cleaning my pieces later.

I think they all look great and very unique. You have not put yourself into just one style, you seem to try what you feel will look good with each stone. Great job! Fran
