Nancy:
Very nice work. I especially like the scales in place of the more usual checkering. You have certaily increased the value of your rifle. Woody

Oh I'd like to sign up my Marlin 22 also! Great job! Now you do that with the stock off the barrel, yes?

Thanks guys The dark areas are "dark walnut" stain. I did break it down (remove barrel) to do it and used layers of masking tape around the areas to be carved so if I slipped the rest of the stock was protected. There is no burning done, it is all carved. I first tried doing this on a pistol grip for hubbys old .22 revolver. That one I made the complete grip then carved it with basket weave. Then I completely stripped down my very old shotgun and redid the whole thing and carved that. I will post photos of those later today for you to check out. Seriously, I love doing this so if anyone really wants something done, give me a shout. Give ya a great deal. ;D

Excellent work! It looks very time-consuming, but well worth it. You really gave that rifle some pazaaz! Garry
