I reconstructed some Ark. turquoise with some resin and made scales for a Chief toothpick knife. Arkansas toothpick..... ;D ;D ;D First is a picture of the turquoise. It is in very small seams in a soft matrix (like kaolin, but harder...chalky) Chief toothpick. Thanks for looking, Ken

I like it! The reconstituted product is unique and appears to take a nice shine. Nice workmanship as well.

So, did you carv for those thin veins, crushed the material and mixed it with resin? Quite a work! But beautiful result.

Yes, Adrian. I crushed it, seperated it (glad I didn't have any hair to pull out while doing it), then finely crushed it and then mixed it with resin and let it set up hard and then cut it like any rock. It is just VERY soft.

Ken, you sure do find challenges and then not only meet it but surpass it! You really made a neat product and it looks great on that knife! Fran

Wow, I have a lot of patience but sitting there carving out all the little bits of turquoise had to take a really long time. The knife is beautiful so it certainly was worth it. Great job!

Actually it only took about an hour, but thanks for your concern. Had a few small pieces with nice exterior seams. Ken
