Joined this site a couple months ago, and have been reading and learning from all the old posts. I've collected rocks for quite awhile, but just started tumbling around New Year's. Also doing preform cabs on my Inland all-in-wonder, along with a a 6" rock rascal, and a 9" Highland Park E-4 saw, 9" blade. I've been acquiring all the tools and supplies and am really stoked about my new hobby. Made a few practice wire wraps, and am experimenting with groove wrapping and hole drilling. There's so much to learn, and I can't begin to Thank Y'all for the amazing info, tutorials and bitchin' photos. I'm also on another forum, yet this place seems to give me more of a warm-fuzzy feel. I'm really looking forward to getting acquainted with all you great folks. BTW, I was a gold prospector before my back gave up. Mike Attachments:

Welcome to the forum! An old timer advised me early on to pick some area of the hobby and master it before moving on. Otherwise you do marginally well at a lot of things and get discouraged.

Welcome Soska. Sounds like you're off to a whirlwind start in the lapidary arts. Though John's advice does seem sound.
Hope you enjoy the boards and look forward to seeing your contributions.

Thanks John, I'll keep that in mind. So many things to try though... Provided I can keep my fingers and thumbs attached. LOL! Hey Todd- I lived in Cleveland area most of my life, including Olmsted Twp. We were almost neighbors! Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! Mike.
