First, can I tumble bloodstone, green epidot and the sweetwater agates together?
Second mother was wondering if there were any special rock indigenous to New Zeland?

No answers, more questions, now that you have started this thread.
Mine is, are there any rocks indigenous to the Caribbean, especially beach areas?

Tami- There may be a dissenting opinion, but the epidot has a hardness of 6-7 and both bloodstone and agates are Chacedony with hardness around 7. So I'd say close enough to tumble together. I know nothing about New Zealand. and less about the Caribbean.

Thanks for the information, I will try to tumble them together and if one of the stones I listed starts falling apart I will take them out.

Hey Tami, the eipdote will tumble just fine with the other rocks. Only thing that will happen is that the eipdote will wear down just a little faster. If there will be a problem, it will be in the polish stage. If the eipdote is too soft, it won't polish, however it shouldn't hinder the polish on the other rocks. You can then repolish the eipdote alone or combine with another slighter softer group of rocks. I don't think that you'll have a problem though.

puppie - i don't know what these are but i lived in jamaica for a year when my 1st husband was sent over there to supervise at a blue jean factory. i wasn't into rocks then - so until i pulled these pictures out i don't guess i noticed a single rock over there - noticed a lot of red stripe beer, shells, flowers, birds, but no rock here i never saw the rocks i was amazed they were washing their clothes in this creek i can't believe i never saw these!!! if you flash a few of their dollars (but don't let them see you get it out, have out already what you are willing to spend - be prepared to walk away if they ask for more - they WILL come down) at some locals they will probably bring all the rocks they can find to your feet. the locals need and want the money. the rocks will probably be off the beaten path and not at the resort/tourist areas. it can be dangerous off the beaten path unless you are with someone who knows the people and the area. if they see they have pleased you and got paid for it they will continue bringing rocks until you leave! kim

Nice pics Kim! Not going to Jamaica, though. It might be hard to get some of those home!
