A little background on myself, as I'm new to this board. I have always been interested in rockhounding. However, I found little time for it while working and raising a family. My busy life started slowing down about five years ago. Planning on picking up the hobby again in retirement, I joined a local rock club. I retired three years ago and have been learning and enjoying the hobby. I'm an Oregon native and enjoy all that is available here.

Hey Michael...welcome the forum...I can relate with you...I have 4 kids...the oldest of which is 20 and right in the middle of college. The others are in high school and junior high...Anyhow, I live close to some amazing rockhounding places here in UtAH...heard of Dugway?
Welcome,
Ozzy

Ozzy,
Yes - I've not only heard of Dugway, I've spent time there. The largest number of rattlers I've seen at the same time in one place! To bad I wasn't there for rocks.

Welcome, Michael! I think you will find that you are busier in retirement and with your rocks than you were when working!
