Finished the pendant from the intarsia I made the other day. Hard to get one picture to show the true colors of the diferent stones. One will show the darker stones well but wash out the lighter ones. So there are 2 with diferent lighting to highlight the stones. Took one for fun of the pieces of silver before soldering them all together. A hanging fuscia was my insperation for the flower. Hope you enjoy it Thanks for taking a look ;D Happy Easter Mike

Nice job. I like the fact each piece is curved on the edges. It adds an original touch.

OK, I'm impressed. I have bookmarked to copy later for a gift I want to make for someone. Don't know if my skills are up to this level though. Did you take a class in intarsia, or did you just jump right in and start doing it after cabbing for awhile?

Peaches No I just do it LOL I'm totally self taught in lapidary & silversmithing. Unlike many people I'm just not afraid to try something. If I fail then it was still a learning process. We learn more from our misstakes than we do from our successes. If you fail, you try to figgure out why. If you successed the first time. You generally don't sit back & ask "now what did I do right?" i try to encourage others not to limit them selves by saying "I can't do that". How do you know? You ever TRY? I often get ideas that I'm not sure how or if I can do it. But that doesn't stop me from trying. Extend yourself. You just might surprize yourself. Mike

I really appreciate this type of inspiration and encouragement. I travel a lot, and when I do, the dates are often fixed, making it impossible to take classes. It really helps to see that a self-taught person can do something so spectacular as what you have achieved.
