Hi all! I have been collecting rocks for a long time, began when I was a geology student at U of Texas and assisted a PHD student on his field project in the Big Bend country of Texas. I wish I still had all the rocks I collected during those times. I am new to lapidary, so this site has been of great help to me. I was a teacher on the Navajo Reservation in Az until a couple years ago, and collected a lot of rocks there, especially some good petrified wood. I have a loretane tumbler and have been experiementing with it. I do have some nice stuff which I will get around to posting some pics one day. I am retired now, so I don't always know what I am going to do from one day to another. I am glad I found this site and hope I can meet some of you some day. I live in Austin,Tx.

Welcome from Sedona. I have rockhounded on BLM land by the Reservation north of Flagstaff. Good stuff. If you still have some of that you will get some good stuff from that tumbler.
This is the place to go if you need any help or ideas.
