Sooo, I've heard from a couple people that they're also interested in white gold-filled wire right? I was wondering if we got people together maybe we could petition RioGrande to add a new product? Just wondered how many people would be interested if I went along the rout of trying to get them to make a new product. - Krista DeSelms If you vote please explain your vote in a message as well!

I don't know if Rio would be able to add white gold but I've found that anything out of the "usual" even Argentium Silver is looked upon with suspicion by lots of people. I've had people tell me argentium was not true silver even after I explained what it was to them. Most people think of gold only in yellow so don't even consider white gold as being true gold. At the price of gold lately I wouldn't want to pay a lot of money for white gold just to find out I wouldn't be able to sell the pieces even if white gold might be a little bit less expensive than 14/20 gold filled. Just my opinion.

Wow, really? I've never had a problem selling any of my Argentium pieces, I even have a couple remnants of white gold-filled wire I've used and people have loved it, just can't seem to get a hold of anymore of the stuff. I don't know, I put my signature on the certificate I give people and will give them their money back if they're not happy, so far no troubles, but I also haven't tried to sell to the masses, just online, in home parties and word of mouth so far.
I'm not sure it's fair to say most people think of gold as only being yellow, a lot of people now, especially younger crowds are buying white gold wedding rings instead of yellow. I can't seem to sell my yellow-gold filled pieces _because_ people wear white gold now. Different target groups I guess :/
Wouldn't the white gold-filled have to be 14/20 as well to be called "gold filled"? I didn't even think it would be cheaper than yellow gold-filled, not sure I guess.

Perhaps I should have said that most people I've talked to or know think of gold in terms of yellow colored gold. I don't know much about white gold so maybe I should research it a little. Glad you brought this up.

Krista, gold filled wire is made in 12kt 12/20 and 14kt 14/20 I have used both, the difference I found was the 12kt is slightly cheaper but it dosen't have the rich color that 14kt has, but in white gold it wouldn't make a difference in color. rio dosen't carry the 12kt. Donna

Diane- Here's a copy & paste...... Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. The copper component in sterling silver causes the tarnishing effect. Argentium® is a new type of silver on the market. Argentium is also 92.5% silver but instead of copper, there is germanium which does not tarnish thereby creating a virtually tarnish free silver

Iam not sure that this will work well ! The reason being is that most white gold on the market is plated with the very very very expensive rhodium !!!!! If your piece isnt plated you probably requested it that way !!! at $$$2,325 an ounce... so in reality the beauty of white gold is really rhodium plate most of the time! www.ebullionguide.com/price-chart-rhodium-last-30-days.aspx
