Wasn't sure where to post this. I hope this is OK. I've seen a few knives here before. I found this old knife in the dirt while gardening and carried it around with me for about a year, then lost it. I just found it again under a fruit tree, so I thought I would give it some new scales. This is a first for me and I will probably be trying it again on a new knife. Old knife with really worn wooden scales: Old scales removed and material for new scales (I had to hand cut a slab in two to get two pieces - that's why surfaces are so rough). It's hard to tell, but the bolsters and liner are brass: The new spine: The new scales (They are tiger iron). Both sides are pretty much identical: Thanks for looking. Garry

You did an outstanding job. Now you are hooked. You can't wait until you do another one. I like the tiger iron. Just got some Australian tiger eye to try on a Buck 110. Ken

That's fantastic!!! I have an old one of my dad's. He used to carry it all the time in the barn. I may have to think about having it re-done.

Having found the knife twice it really deserved a new life and now it is beautiful. Bet it won't get lost so easy again. Great Job!

I think you did a great job! I totally goofed up the one I tried but that was a long time ago. Maybe it is time to think about trying again. Fran
