Here's a new Bolo Tie I just finished yesterday. I'd carved the rattler some time ago But hadn't decided whether to make a Bolo or a belt buckle. Well yesterday I just decided I wear more bolos than I do belt buckles (different ones). So this is how it came out. Kingman Turquoise, garnet eyes & ivory eggs. 3/16" straight bezel on 14 ga backing with a commercial bolo fitting & sterling tips. I've got to buy some more tips one of these days. I hope silver keeps going down a while LOL I hope you like it & thanks for looking. Mike

Now that is really great. A one of a kind piece you should keep in the family as an heirloom.

Very nice carving, i really like the garnets in the eyes. Gives me some ideas of what i can do with all the little garnets i collect out of my gold pan.

Wonderful work. I agree, each new is better then the last, but I guess that is why we continue to do it, if we didn't get better and receive praise there would be no reason to keep doing this. You will receive lots of praise my friend, lots, please keep going, I want to see the next twenty or so.

Thank you all for the nice words. It certainly is not the most detailed carving I've done. But it is a bit unusual & that I think makes it stand out. I love to carve just about anything. Wood, stone ivory what ever comes to hand. I used to do quite a bit of wood carving. I got into carousel animals & for a few years did that. From scratch & restoration but the restoration end was a dime an hour proposition. Won several awards for the animals I carved though. Lets see there arround here some where. Stuck away in a drawer LOL Dust catchers I call them. With a hand full of ribbons & 5 bucks you can buy a cup of cofee LOL Jack I like your tag at the end. I too try to learn something new or try something new every day. I think every one should. Because we never know what we can do untill we try. If we never try we never do. Mike
