I went downstairs to get some washcloths and noticed that my new tumbler wasn't running . So after I finished what I was doing I unscrewed the housing part and opened it up and found out that the belt had slipped. When I put the belt back on I noticed that it was a little loose and very easy to put back on. Does anyone know how tight the belt should be on the Lortone tumblers? Tami

That's nothing. I went in the garage last night and to my suprise, my tumblers sounded unusually quite. I turned on the light and guess what. The lid of one of my 3 lb barrels failed. I stood in disbelief as my tumbler sat, stuggling to run, in a 2 foot puddle of slurry... Oh well. All is better now.

That was the third lid that failed in the last two weeks! Plus, my 15 lb polish barrel leaks...

Did you walk under a ladder or did a black cat run across your path , seems as though you are having alot of rotten luck recently. Tami

I don't know. But I do seem to have been cursed lately. Let's preform an Exorcism. ;D

I hear there's a priest over at "Our Lady of The Precious Stone" that performs Rockrcism's.

The first load of tiger eye I did on my 3lb Lortone gave me fits with the lid too. It hadn't gone 24 hours and it lost the top (or nearly so) 3 times . I cleaned the seal real well and put in 2 tums. The next day I watched it carefully and had to relieve the pressure twice and again the third, the fourth (plus another tum) and the fifth day. I don't know if it was that batch of tiger eye since I haven't had a single problem with my current load of tigereye from a different source. Nor with another tigereye load from the original source. Actually, I never did figure out what caused it but I am sure glad it stopped.

If you are asking (Just)me, the answer is no! This was my third load, however, I had not used it for 6 months. Guilty conscious since this nice little 3lb Lortone was really my daughter's birthday gift from my brother which I kinda took over. So I didn't use it to see if she would. She still has no interest in it so I claim it as my own. Wait till I finally get a load that SHINES like those in the photos and then I think I'll have her hooked too.
Never thought of that possible cause though.
