Yes... I purchased a good size slab on ebay a month or so back. The piece actually looks better in person. My camera (or the lighting?) doesn't do a very good job of getting the colors just right.
Yesterday we had the local "Koi Club" out for a visit to our shop. They do a pot luck, attend to business issues, have a guest speaker (me), and a raffle for the club's treasury. They of course asked me to donate some items for the raffle, and so I gave them some koi food and pond chems, and the Imperial Jasper. The gal running the raffle commented that she would prefer not to raffle the jasper, and instead just keep it for herself. She was kidding (I think), however her husband ended up with winning raffle ticket for it!
Kind Regards, Bill

Those are beautiful pieces, Bill. Thanks for taking the time to post. Do you keep a pond and koi as well? That's a fun hobby as well.

We have a family run business in Upland (about an hour from you) that sells imported koi and pond supplies. What started as a hobby many years ago evolved into a business after the aerospace biz went though all the consolidations (long, mostly boring story). Anyway, koi are my business, lapidary and muscle cars are my hobbies! Here is a photo of my Chevelle (the red '70) in front of our store. And this is a photo of "part" of the back garden area we we house our koi. Kind Regards, Bill
