Looks like an agatized fossil of some sort. Answer to eariler question about stalagmites, etc. - yes they can also be agate. Attached is one I found. Quartz/Amethyst also exists. Rich. Attachments:

Hey Daniel, That's a pretty fossil. My guess it is a pine cone, or coral. It looks like it would make a few nice cabs. I love landscape stone finds! I've been told I have a problem, too. Mary
