I bought this gypsy ring pattern from wire-jewelry lessons.com & finally got the nerve to try it. The artist for this one is Patricia Johnson. This was a small piece of dino bone that I cabbed (less than 10mm). I just didn't want such a small pretty piece go to waste & I had been saving it to make a ring for myself. Since I used a smaller cab than the instructions called for I didn't have enough room for all the curlies so I ended up laying a curly down on either side of the stone. I was supposed to use 22 gauge hard square but I only had soft. The half round was supposed to be 21 gauge, I only had 20 so that is what I used. Not so sure I like the wires twisted but it did make the wire harder. Now that I finally got the nerve to do one I am not so nervous about trying it again or even a different pattern.

I really like the curls on either side. Imo it gives the ring a little extra style without taking away from the cab. I can see why you want that for yourself.
