Not really a homemade machine, but a new used one to me. I bought a beacon industries cab machine which has 2 diamond wheels on it. One is clearly marked 100, but the other is clearly a finer grit size without an obvious marking other than Crystalring Made by Crystalite Corp (followed by the city and zipcode of manufacturer in CA. I can find part numbers for Crystalring 6" wheels of different grits on their web site but can not for the life of me find a serial number on the wheel. Anyone have any hints for finding the number on my wheel or otherwise determining the grit size of this wheel. Thanks in advance. Tom

No idea, but most people use either 80 or 100 coarse wheels and 200 or 220 finer wheel.

Apologies for asking a question that I could answer myself. Further examination of the side of the wheel and a bit of water to highlight embossed scripts showed the wheel to be a "600". The prominence of the 100 label on the other wheel was so much stronger that I had overlooked a smaller and less raised numbering of the second wheel. I knew the texture was extremely fine, but could not tell by touch as to how fine. Now back to cabbing. Tom
