Hey guys, It's been soooooo hot the last couple of weeks!!!!!! I haven't felt like doing anything after I get home from work... but I have managed to get a few wraps done.... This first wrap is a custom for the same woman who bought my tiny crystal wrap ( if you remember that one ).... She picked out the stone, actually it was a pendant my mom made ( drilled stone, with a wire bail ). She likes the look of the coils ( she calls them snakes ) and she likes silver and black... but I didn't want to do anything too elaborite because the stone is pretty big..... So, this is what I came up with..... She said she dosen't really like copper, but I used a little in the coils to match the stone a little better... Here's the back... in case you are wondering, I did use the hole that was drilled in the stone to tie the front to the back. Actually, without using the hole I don't think this design would have worked. This next wrap was kind of fun... tedious, but fun . The stone is a quartz crystal cluster we found in Flint Ridge, Ohio. The crystal is just how it was found ( I'm sure some knapper chipped it off of a large chunk, but still... I found it ;D ). The wrap is really just a claw holding the stone, each finger took a while to weave... but it was worth it, I think. .. I also threw in a little garnet for some color.... ... and, the back.... And.... one more. This one is another custom wrap.... He supplied the stone (black jade, actually it's a bead... three holes are drilled through the side ) and I wrapped it. He wanted a cross with a garnet on the bail. I think he'll like it.... ... and the back... Well, it's too hot in this room to type any more right now , lol.... What do you guys think? Chris

All are beautiful. I like the jade best, it is very classy. That first one is a perfect match for that stone. It is like lookin at snake wrapped around a frog. Very cool.

Love the cross on the black jade. Heck, love them all. No matter how much wire you use, the stone is never overwhelmed...

I just noticed the way you bent the wire to get the inside corners on the cross. I would have never thought of that, it adds a cool effect.

I have to tell you all about Chris's wraps at our sell each week. For the most part I sell a lot and it's only from 8am to 3pm every Saturday but Chris's wraps draw the most attention. People will stand and look at them and try to figure out how he does them every week. He is now getting commissions every week. He has completed these two and today took orders for two more. It has been a gradual process but Chris is definitely developing a reputation. Today was a good day, he sold 1 wrap and took orders for two more. Next week he will be paid for the two above that were contracted. This location is a great one for us and I pray that it just continues to grow for Chris. Thanks for reading a proud Mom brag!

The wraps are gorgeous and congats on your sales and commissions. The crystal is drop dead beautiful and I love the woven prongs. What a way to dress it up.
You managed to put a whole lot of elegance in one heck of a manly wrap with that Jade.

Thanks as always .... Just playing with wire . I like adding the garnets as little accents... I just don't have many... That first one is a perfect match for that stone. It is like lookin at snake wrapped around a frog. Very cool. Cool, I'm glad you said that Amy... The customer I made it for said pretty much the same thing. I sure hope she likes it, I hope to see her this weekend. That quartz cluster wrap RULES! LOL... Peachfront like it.... she really likes it!!!! Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm keeping that one ....Actually, it reminds me of the sculpture thing that held Delia during the wedding in Beetlejuice. I just noticed the way you bent the wire to get the inside corners on the cross. I would have never thought of that, it adds a cool effect. Hey Randy, I'm glad you noticed that... I've never really liked the look of straight right angle bends, so on this one I bent the wire back and then over. It seems to make the corners look a little sharper. It does lift the wire off the stone a little ( angle pic ), but that's no problem. Way cool pics! Thanks for the pics of the back of them too... That part always fascinates me Thank you, and no problem Lisa.... I put just as much work in the back as I do the front, if not more. Figure I might as well show it .... Chris, you are an artist!!! The ideas and execution are really first rate! Wow. (My favorite is the claw) Thank you so much Dee!!! ;D You know, I'm a huge fan of your work... You ( and Randy, and Lori, and Mystic Koi, and etc.... ) are definately an inspiration to me... By the way, those dragons are awesome!!!

Yeah Chris, that is what the quartz cluster looks like. It was bugging me. Like the sculpture in Beetlejuice. That sculpter always looked kinda freaky to me. But on crystal it looks great.
