I see that some other folks have tumbled glass. I read elsewhere that it is really difficult to get a good shine. I recently bought some rough sea glass and am looking for suggestions on tumbling approach.
Thanks!

Howdy Skipper. Most people I know are trying hard to fake the rough look of seaglass that you already have. The more thesea beats it up, the nicer it looks. But I know donwrob did a gorgeous job polishing up some slag glass...not the same thing as seaglass. If he sees this I'm sure he'd remind you how he did it. Personally, I love the rough look of seaglass...it makes gorgeous jewelry, so I'd just leave it alone. But I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Hi Skipper, I had pretty good luck polishing glass with tin oxide. Just run it up as you would any other rock. You might not need to run 60-90 if you don't want to change the shapes much, the 120-220 will round the edges nice, pre-polish then tin oxide. But like hern said, it might be best to leave it frosted, with the sea glass look, like it has been shaped and scuffed by months or years in the surf. Good luck with it what ever you decide to do, make sure you show us some pics too! Later, Don

i think I will skip the rough grit cuz the chunky look is great. You guys are right, it does already look good, but I'm just dying to see how they look all shiny. I'll post pics.

...sooo...what I actually did was a 1 week cycle in rough, 1 in 220 1 in prepolish and 2 in polish.
They are not awesome, but they look pretty durn good. I did the glass with obsidian and it all came out really nice.
