Yes it is a piece of tabulate coral....Colony coral...Nice piece...I find it in the creek beds here...takes a goood polish...John

Thanks for the ID John. I looked up tabulate coral and verified that you nailed it. Curt, I tried scratching it with a pocket knife this morning and looking under a 60x magnifier I could not see a scratch. I think I'll keep it intact as a specimen.
