I have a friend at work that I met a couple of years ago. His name is Dave Perry, and he has been flintknapping for about 25 years. He is the one who has gotten me interested in learning to knap, I have done a couple of Lost Arts Festivals with him at the Seven Eagles Camp in Grand Rapids, OH. A couple of nights ago he brought some points and blades into work that he had done over the weekend, and asked me if I might try my hand halfting some handles for them. As he unwrapped the the blades, I was shocked to see 4 awesome pieces made from the same chunk of Mahogany Obsidian. He said that these were 4 of the best pieces he had ever made, and planned to keep them for himself (most of his pieces he sells for pennys or gives away, and he only uses his profits to buy more stone to work). I have to agree that they are outstanding and I just had to share them here. I just hope that I will be able to make as equally nice handles to complete them for him. The smaller ones are 2 1/2" and 3", and the larger are about 5" and 6". Thanks for looking. Dave
