Thanks all!
Hi Judy ~ The cabs have a nice bevel and the wire is very tight. It's strictly tension holding the stones in place. I've made several others like that, some of my friends and family wear them and no one has reported any trouble with the stones coming loose.

what gauge wire do you use? I'm guessing it has to be fairly sturdy wire to hold tight like that... I'm thoroughly impressed!

Those are some nice wraps. That "basketweave" look on the malachite and lapis is great and very interesting.

Thank you for the great comments all.
Judy ~ The main wires are 20g and the wrap wires are 22g. Sometimes I use 18g half round for the wrapping wires on the bail.
The basketweave style isn't that difficult but does require some patience because it's fairly teadious. I borrowed the technique from some of the wrappers on metalworkers.org
Thanks again!

Fantastic work but that malachite is drop dead gorgeous! Love the way you hold them in there. Think I'm going to have to try to master that. jo
