Here is a project I've been working on recently, I'm about half way done. It's made of thousands of tiny beads on a very large cow skull that with polymer clay center piece and onyx and quartz rounds for accents.. I'll post more photos when I'm done ;D Thanks for looking!

That is incredible Judy. Can't wait to see the finished piece. What glue do you use? It is easy to see that those beads are placed one by one. Glue in one hand and bead in the other? I am totally impressed. Jim

thanks everyone! It's definitely a labor of love... Jim, yes - one bead at a time... the masters of this type of beadwork are the Huichol Indians of South Central Mexico - they coat the object with a layer of beeswax, and then press the beads into the wax to hold it. Unfortunately, beeswax doesn't hold well here in Tucson, with the desert heat, so I use a product called "Liquid Stitch" it's a fabric glue that holds up to water, heat and time... and it drys clear. Also, it allows for each piece of art that I make like this, to be washed up from time to time with no adverse effects Pretty cool stuff really... I have a very long skirt that got torn, oh, at least 6-7 years ago and I used this glue on it... it's still holding to this day! Thanks for the comments!! This piece should be finished within the week!

hahahaha I use the same glue since I do not sew except for putting buttons back on. I never would have thought about using it for something like that. I could not even come close to doing what you did but now I may have some other uses for that glue. Maybe you should get in touch with the glue company and offer to be in their advertising for a small fee. lol Jim

Hi Judy,
My That is amazing
You said wait till you see the horns !
I see why they are beautifull
A lot of work in that it is awsome 45,000 beads makes my mind boggle !
Them horns are wicked looking and could realy do some damage , (we used to de horn ours )
You will now be on "Holiday" after all that hard work ?

Thanks Jo and Jack yes, it feels good to be done....but it also has me encouraged to start the NEXT one!! hehehe... I actually have 2 more waiting their turn in my shop. Jack, you are right - those horns could do damage - the shop I bought the skull from did a nice job polishing them up and they are VERY sharp on the ends... Holiday? naw...I havent been working on this full time, just a little here and a little there..... in fact, I'm scheduled to go back to "work" in 2 weeks.... LOL
