I followed bikerrandy's instructions here as best as I understood them: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=tottumb&action=display&thread=29369I added a bunch of small and large non-abrasive ceramic media, probably 4 pounds in total. I had my daughter re-inspect the tumbled stones I've been setting aside and I added all the cabs and several jade chunks and some slabbed jade, topped off the media and started it up with some spray bottle-water. Once it was going, I added 7Tb of 120/220 and sprayed once or twice more to moisten things up. I was surprised at the noise drop once I added media. Once I put the top on it was very quiet. I was happy to see that the UV10 stays put and doesn't run around. I had read about the Lot-O's needing to be anchored to a cinder block and was concerned about whether the UV10 would move or not. Here are the progress shots. I shot a video of the tumbler going, but it will take a while to upload so I may add it later: Chunks and some small slabs of Wyoming Jade: Everything is moving nicely. I will check it again in a couple hours. Thanks for reading! ******************************************************************* UPDATE I added another Tablespoon of 120/220 and my daughter checked on it for me while I was gone, and sprayed a little water in it. When I got home it looked great: It was moving a bit slow so I sprayed it a few times and it was moving great in a couple minutes. The video from earlier is still converting. Once it is done I can post that as well.

I got my Lot-O last night and it's been running ever since. My rocks have already been through the first two stages in my rotary tumbler, so I jumped right in with the pre-polish. I'm not sure exactly what grit it was. I used the second stage of grit that came with the tumbler. I pulled a rock out a couple hours ago and it was starting to get shiny. It's fun that you can watch them while the tumbler is on.
My Lot-O is stuck to a concrete block and is very quiet, especially with the lid on. I can't decide which is quieter between that and my Lortone 33B.

Nice, you should post some pics! It would be great to see how things are looking. I remember you showed the stuff from your rotary a week or so ago.

I don't think you'd notice the difference in a picture yet. They're just getting a little shiny. I'll post some pics when they're finished. I just came upstairs from doing a wash. I'm washing them overnight in soap and borax according to Connrock's Lot-O recipe. Tomorrow I'll start the polishing. I can hardly wait! Unfortunately, that's exactly what this hobby is all about...waiting.
