So after a long road, including over a week in the vibe, I have a batch of cabs that are done! If you have been following my "progress" (term used very loosely) you may recognize some of these. Others were ones I had given up on but the vibe has salvaged. First up, some jasper-y stuff from wampidy that had some voids, but in spite of them took a nice shine: Next a blood stone from some stuff Randy sent: Next a little piece I cut from some local stuff I found rockhounding Another one that I think I got from Randy: Some pieces from one slab of scrap picture jasper: Last, but not least, is a pendant I made for Nancy, from a piece of Mooka. The heart I intended for her failed in polish when the "spider man jasper" pitted badly. She picked this as her favorite and I cemented a bail to it. I don't know what to do for a chain yet, but she did get a pendant, made by me, for Valentine's Day!

John, Watching you from start to finish was like watching a time lapse film of a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Funny thing when I became acquainted with the forum I was all set to do tumbling but changed direction and started off with cabbing. Seeing all of the fun and learning opportunities that you had made me realize that I should wait no longer to get started in tumbling. I realize that even if you don't have the time to do a cabbing session if you are tumbling you are still involved. The excitement and anticipation of finding a pot-o-gold in your lot-o has got to be a major rush. Good job! Stu

Thanks all!
Yeah Stu, I love having both going at once. I couldn't keep my "cab a day" going because life just wouldn't let me into the garage every night - so having the tumblers going and being able to let them run a couple days at a time let me feel like progress was being made.
I'd love to see you get tumbling and have you show what you are up to so we can all learn a little more!

Those turned out really nice out of the tumbler. I don't have the kind of patience required for tumbling. Robert
